Most of my MP3s are on a desktop machine, what's the easiest/quickest way to transfer them to my laptop? Author: Tim Leeks |
 | I already know that your laptop is wireless enabled. You do not say if the desktop is?
If you could borrow a wireless adaptor from someone (a USB based one would be easiest), then you could create a wireless network.
Modify the wireless connection so that one machine has the ip address 192.168.0.1 and the other 192.168.0.2 using a subnet address of 255.255.255.0
Share the files on the desktop (right click on the folder), then you will be able to map drive from within Windows Explorer and simply copy the files over.
An alternative way would be to transfer the files using a memory stick/usb drive type device - this would be easier too!
If both machines are bluetooth enabled you might use this to transfer the files - remember you need to be in close range approx. 10 metres.
Burn all the files to a CD - assuming the desktop has a rewriter, then transfer via. the CD to your laptop! Comments: THIS USER DONATED A DRINK OR TWO!
